Service Description

We have proudly put on our Autumn Orchard Tours every year for the past six years. Every year gets bigger and better and we are able to offer more to our friends and visitors. This year we are opening the calendar Sept. 12 - Oct. 11 for Tuesday and Wednesday Tours. If these days of the week do not work for your group, please inquire about an alternative date. Alternative dates are not guaranteed since this is our busiest season but we will certainly try to accommodate. Please advance to September in the calendar to see dates available through each week. The cost is $7 per person, including adults. Children 3 and under are free. If you've never been to our Autumn Orchard Tour, you're in for a treat and a journey back in time. The world of apples is far more complex than any of us could have ever imagined. In this tour, Nikki ( owner, apple enthusiast, orchardist and pie baker), talks about the history of apples in America. Meet Mr. John Bunker, one of America's longest serving and last surviving true apple identifiers. We will also discuss Johnny Appleseed ( John Chapman), and his role of spreading the love of apples across the landscape for the early colonists, pioneers, and homesteaders. It's not what you've been led to believe! Another very important piece of this workshop is the topic of HOW apples are actually grown. You'd be surprised to know that most people have no idea! From our friends the bees to the apple blossoms, we'll cover it all in a way that is appropriate for all ages ( although children under the age of 5 may have a hard time staying tuned in - the important thing to remember is exposure. Being exposed to agriculture is a life long learning experience). Testimonial: "Nikki, Thank you so much for the tour and wonderful education on apples this morning. Yahri and I, as well as Patton (my grandson) thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! You are obviously passionate about what you do and it shows when you are sharing your knowledge! We look forward to coming to the orchard for some pie, apples and some doughnuts soon! Thanks again for a great morning at the orchard! Regards, Wendy" Please stick with us and watch for updates on our social media OR subscribe to our email list on our website for exclusive / special events, announcements, and more! All tour sessions are non-refundable. We have allotted the time on the calendar for your attendance and participation. If weather hampers our workshop, we will do our best to reschedule.
